Relativistic Theory of Few-Body Systems

چکیده

Very significant advances have been made in the relativistic theory of few body systems since I visited Peter Sauer and his group in Hannover in 1983. This talk provides an opportunity to review the progress in this field since then. Different methods for the realtivistic calculation of few nucleon systems are briefly described. As an example, seven relativistic calculations of the deuteron elastic structure functions, A, B, and T20, are compared. The covariant spectator c © theory, among the more successful and complete of these methods, is described in more detail. JLAB-THY-02-61 WM-02-112

4 Ab initio determination of the lifetime of the 6 2 P 3 / 2 state for 207 Pb + by relativistic many - body theory

Relativistic coupled-cluster(RCC) theory has been employed to calculate the lifetime of the 62P3/2 state of single ionized lead(Pb) to an accuracy of 3% and compared with the corresponding value obtained using second order relativistic many-body perturbation theory(RMBPT). This is one of the very few applications of this theory to excited state properties of heavy atomic systems. Contributions ...

Spectator-model operators in point-form relativistic quantum mechanics

We address the construction of transition operators for electromagnetic, weak, and hadronic reactions of relativistic few-quark systems along the spectator model. While the problem is of relevance for all forms of relativistic quantum mechanics, we specifically adhere to the point form, since it preserves the spectator character of the corresponding transition operators in any reference frame. ...

A pr 1 99 8 Explicitly Covariant Light - Front Dynamics and Relativistic Few - Body Systems

The wave function of a composite system is defined in relativity on a space-time surface. In the explicitly covariant light-front dynamics, reviewed in the present article, the wave functions are defined on the plane ω·x = 0, where ω is an arbitrary four-vector with ω = 0. The standard non-covariant approach is recovered as a particular case for ω = (1, 0, 0,−1). Using the light-front plane is ...

We compare the Bakamjian-Thomas (BT) formulation of relativistic few-body systems with light front field theories that maintain closer contact with Feynman diagrams. We find that Feynman diagrams distinguish Melosh rotations and other kinematical quantities belonging to various composite subsystem frames that correspond to different loop integrals. The BT formalism knows only the rest frame of ...

Final State Interactions and Relativistic Effects in Exclusive Electron Scattering from the Deuteron

For a quantitative description of exclusive electron scattering data at high energies, one has to take into account both relativistic effects and an appropriate description of final state interactions. In the rst part, we use a recent approach for the relativistic treatment of the electromagnetic current operator which does not involve an approximation in the transferred energy or transferred m...
